more of my own art

I have been putting more of my own original stuff into my scrapbook pages and really enjoying it. there is this one about caylah that has swirls or koru that I just love how it turned out and there is one that I did at Shels last weekend. I scanned it there and put it on the gallery at Scrapbooking by design, so I havent got it on my computer to load here. but here is a link. It has flowers drawn on it.
You probably don't know, but I doodle alot when I am in meetings at work and I used to do it when I was studying - in classes and lectures. Believe it or not, I am not doing it because I am bored but becuase it helps me keep my mind awake and it helps me concentrate and I do hear everythign that is going on... ANYWAY I have some signature things that are often included. swirls or koru, circles, flowers, sometimes stars. and I am so loving adding these to my scrapbook pages!

The other thing about these pages is that they are on white backgrounds - something I very rarely do, and yet it goes with this kind of page... of course the colours wouldn't show well on a coloured background. i need some better opaque pens that will show up on darker colours. Opaque does mean not see through doesn't it? Shel and I have tried to talk about it several times and the word seems wrong... oh well!

This page turned out awesome too - very yellow, which is not one of my favourite colours, and the things that look like little black brads or squares are actually little mirror tiles that sparkle and shine but don't really show up here.
I love this photo of myself - in my opshop orange cardy and the hat that I loved but was SOO not in fashion back then. ANyway it seems to be the most popular one of the last bunch on the SCB gallery which surprises me. I didn't think it was THAT good. I wonder what it is about this page the people like. It is so much fun to get comments from people on the gallery and to see how many times each photo is viewed but the comments are not always specific - just that someone liked it.
I did this one for a dare - Hmmm which dare was it? Effers Dare 62 - Finding Beaty in something overlooked. this page is very plain and simple but effective I think. It was probably the fastest page I have ever completed.
So did I mention that Shel and I had our very own scrap camp at her house last weekend? Her girls came to my house and my girls looked after them. CJ and Lain went to Mum's for the weekend and shel and I scrapbooked from friday night to Sunday afternoon. I got 9 pages and one small canvas completed and listened to cool music and watch soem crappy tv and it was really fun. can't wait to do it again!
